While summer has passed and the crowds are gone, it’s still a great time to take the family to the beach.  The days are still warm enough to enjoy looking for seashells or exploring the area. Even though things are a little slower this time of year, it also provides the perfect opportunity for the local businesses to make necessary repairs and upgrades.  It’s also when businesses will start planning for the upcoming year.

The past several weeks we at the Ocean Isle Inn have been busy too! We’ve been focusing on our Social Media Program.  If you’ve been anywhere near a computer the past year, no doubt you’ve heard of Twitter, Facebook  and YouTube.  The marketing and advertising trends are quickly transitioning from that of traditional print advertising to digital media.  This past year the Ocean Isle Inn has played host to online Twitter Parties, Tweet-Ups and even our own Social Media Moms Conference and several bloggers have written about us. Now things are getting even better!  We are pleased to be the first area hotel to start our own Featured Bloggers and Ambassadors Program.

Each month we will be hosting a different Featured Blogger and sharing their story with you. In turn they will be sharing their experiences at the Ocean Isle Inn with their readers.  So without further delay let me introduce you to our first Featured Blogger, Jennifer James! 

Jennifer is the creator of the Mom Bloggers Club, one of the largest social networks for moms who blog at over 11,000 registered users. The Mom Bloggers Club has been mentioned in Brandweek, CNN.com, AOL’s Wallet Pop, the Austin-American Statesman, the Yorkshire Post (UK) and on NPR’s All Things Considered. The Mom Bloggers Club was also included on Nielsen’s list of mom communities in its Spring 2009 Power Moms 50 List.  Jennifer and her family will spent a few days with us in Ocean Isle Beach. In today's busy fast-paced world people often forget that exemplary customer service can begin with a friendly "Hello". Taking a genuine interest in your customers needs sometimes seems like a long lost practice. Time expressed with genuine concern and common courtesy is the best investment. Recently, a visiting guest remarked about how his arrival was a truly welcoming experience. He was taken aback by the warm reception that greeted him as soon as he walked through the lobby door. Not only from the associate behind the counter but also by the staff that were present nearby. As it turns out this gentleman was a business owner himself, a Dojo Instructor. He expressed his own ideals about exceptional customer service and how his own staff was encouraged to treat the business as if it were their own. Before heading to his room, this customer was certain he'd be returning to the Ocean Isle Inn because of our genuine hospitality.  

This past weekend we experienced almost picture perfect weather for the garden wedding of Matthew & Megan Hintz at the Ocean Isle Inn.  For friends and relatives that were unable to be in attendance, they were able to watch the ceremony via our Beach Cam@ww.oceanisleinn.com/beachcam.html.
