Conference Re-Cap Part 1

** part one of two

This past weekend (Feb 24—26) the Ocean Isle Inn hosted the first North Carolina Mom Bloggers Beach Conference. Attended by dozens of ‘Mom Bloggers’ from the Carolina’s and some from as far as Wisconsin, this conference still retained an uhurried atmosphere that was well received by those participating.

Arriving on Thursday evening, conference attendees were treated to a fabulous Welcome Reception where they were able to mingle with the Ocean Isle Inn’s Brand Ambassadors and enjoy a delicious dinner while listening to some great music from DJ Hurricane.  Our Brand Ambassador, Malise has a great post on her site, CarolinaMama showing many pics from the welcome party.

Friday morning brought us a bit of rain, but then the skies gave way to another beautiful sun-filled day, which made for a wonderful setting for the first day of speaking sessions. Our Welcome Address by Mitzi York of the Brunswick County TDA was great! Not only was it a welcome to our conference, but also to the South Brunswick Islands. Many attendees said that her presentation very informative about the area and what Brunswick County, NC has to offer to families seeking relocation or a vacation. We were also thrilled to be a part of a new product launch with one of our sponsors, Eat.Think.Smile. This new line of natural cocoa-based Granola Clusters, Baked Nutrition Bars, Crispy Thins and Chewy Granola Bars were a big hit for everyone.  They’ll be showing up on your grocer’s shelves soon! Thanks Eat.Think.Smile for sponsoring and participating in our conference!  We were also treated to a great speaking session by Lisa Frame of the Daily Pinch and the Mommyality network. After all, we were here to network AND learn something.  Lisa lead a high-spirited presentation on some of the basics on SEO.  Later that evening we all dined together once again sharing many hugs & smiles while enjoying a wonderful selection of pasta dishes.

Rumor has it that there were copious amounts of coffee consumed throughout the night by some … Be sure to come back to read the rest of the story tomorrow …
