If you’ve had your fill of turkey after the big day head over to the Museum of Coastal Carolina in Ocean Isle Beach for their 3rd Annual Beer & Brats Fundraiser. The event takes place on Friday, November 27 from 5 to 8 p.m. Come enjoy the delicious brats, beer and a Beer Swami Content. There will be live music performed by John Cubito (aka Chicky’s Boy). While you won’t see any snow in Ocean Isle Beach for Thanksgiving head on over to the Ingram Planetarium for a special presentation of Let It Snow that is sure to get you in the mood for the holidays. Beginning Friday, November 27 from 12 noon-1 p.m. the show repeats every Thursday, Friday and Saturday until Christmas. This family-friendly soundtrack is visually enhanced with full-dome animation, laser imagery, and special effects. Music includes an array of festive classics from Frank Sinatra and Chuck Berry to Burl Ives and Brenda Lee. Then plan on being awed by the stunning multimedia finale performed by the Trans Siberian Orchestra. Free for members. Don’t leave town before the weekend and you can take part in the ever popular Super Saturday on OIB. On Saturday, November 28 from 1:30 to 6 p.m. the annual Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting takes place followed by the 12th Annual Christmas Flotilla and Party. Santa will be making an appearance at the Fire Station at approx. 5:30. Come enjoy hot cocoa, coffee and other goodies. The day wraps up with a big party at Sharky’s Waterfront Restaurant celebrating the upcoming season. The party will benefit Hope Harbour Domestic Violence Shelter. Don’t miss this big shindig where local bands will kick off an evening of music, dancing and fun after the awards.
