If you’ll be in the area this weekend for the Holden Beach Festival by the Sea you might want to check out a few haunted events taking place on behalf of the Halloween holiday. When you’ve seen all there is to see at the festival, come on over to the Museum of Coastal Carolina, 21 East 2nd Street, Ocean Isle Beach for a presentation on OIB Ghosts: History of the Island from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Oct. 25. Free for members. Non-member all-day admission: $8 adults, $7 seniors, $6 children (3-12), age 2 & under are admitted free of charge.
On October 25 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Halloween at the Old Bridge takes place. Sponsored by the Old Bride Preservation Society this free Halloween event is open to the community and vacationers alike. Held at the Old Bridge on 109 Shoreline Drive, Sunset Beach, there will be Halloween themed games, a contest for the best costume and plenty of activities for kids and adults alike! You won’t go hungry either. There will be free hot dogs will all the fixings so come hungry!
Ingram Planetarium has a Halloween Laser Music Show from 6-9 p.m. weekly on Thursdays and Fridays beginning Oct. 23 through Oct. 31. Ingram Planetarium is located at 7625 High Market Street, Sunset Beach. Free for members. Non-member per-show admission: $8 adults, $7 seniors, $6 children (3-12), free for age 2 & under.
Come out and get your spooky on at Spooky Night at the Museum from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 30 at the Museum of Coastal Carolina, 21 East 2nd Street, Ocean Isle Beach. Wear your scariest costume (no adults in masks, please), bring your trick-or-treat bag, and come out to enjoy some spooky fun! Balloon Man and Snakes Alive will be there and candy and treats will be supplied by local businesses. Be forewarned though — One scary room will require parental permission for young children to enter. Fee: $6 per person, age 2 & under free.
