OIB Local Events: Fourth of July

Take the average family, add in some sun, sand, and surf, and what you have a fabulous summer beach vacation in Ocean Isle Beach, South Carolina. If you’re planning a visit and want to take advantage of our Specials at Ocean Isle Inn then the upcoming holidays are a great time to be here.

OIB Local Events: Fourth of July The next big holiday is the Fourth of July and it falls on a Friday this year. There are things taking place all over North and South Carolina and especially on the Brunswick Islands. We know you don’t want to miss any of it and probably don’t want to drive if you don’t need to.

Up and down the coast there will be impromptu displays of fireworks taking place. Sit out on our oceanfront deck in the comfortable beach chairs and take it all in that evening. But there are events taking place during the day, too, that you won’t want to miss.

The annual 4th of July Ocean Isle Parade will begin at 10 a.m. Decorated floats, golf carts and bicycles will be in the parade, judged and prizes awarded. Make sure you wave to those in the parade as it makes its way through Ocean Isle Beach. If you’re planning on being in the parade you must be in the Museum of Coastal Carolina parking lot by 9:30 a.m. to line up with floats and other participants.

As part of the 2014 Ocean Isle Beach Free Concert Series a free July 4th concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Museum of Coastal Carolina parking lot. Steve Owens and Summertime will be rocking the stage playing your favorite beach tunes!

Following the concert there will be a free fireworks show at the OIB Pier. The public is encouraged to attend.
