Valentine’s 2010 was indeed unique for visitors at the Ocean Isle Inn here at Ocean Isle Beach, NC. The guests who came to celebrate the special weekend with that really special significant other were greeted by over 4″ of snow that covered Ocean Isle Beach on Saturday morning.
As with many other parts of the country, the coastal Carolinas did not escape Mother Nature’s wrath this past weekend. However, unlike a lot of other areas, we were fortunate that our special snowfall was gone by Sunday afternoon. The last major snow that hit Ocean Isle Beach was in 1989 that was over 12″ and literally paralyzed this part of the state for several days.
A lot of our guests and locals were out early taking lots of photos of this memorable event. We had a college baseball team staying here that got into the act by making a snowman on the beach early Saturday morning. They were joined by others who chose to engage in snowball fights or take a walk in the snow on the beach-quite an experience.
Don’t wait for a snowfall at the beach to make your visit a memorable event. You can make your special memories any time of year here at the Ocean Isle Inn.
